Hi Guys,

As many of you may know we were hacked by someone on Thanksgiving Day. I have no idea why someone would do such a thing, or who they are. I am not the type to go all Derek Anderson on the hacker.

All I know is that it has been really tough for us to get things back in order while going through the holiday season. Also I know that we left a lot of customer out there with questions unanswered and the community staled. I like to personally apologize for all of these. One thing I like to stress is that customer's credit card information was not processed on our server, but through paypal payment pro. There would be no way the hackers would have access to it. The transactions were secured by SSL certificate, so that would have been safe as well.

Now we have things in order, I hope we can rebuilt from the ashes. We have now broken the penguinunited site to http://www.penguinunited.com (still in progress, going live this weekend) which is really just a company website. The products will be displayed and sold at http://www.penguinunitedstore.com (still in progress, going live this weekend) and the forum at http://www.penguinunitedforum.com the reason why we split things up is to make sure that we don't use the old script we had for our company website, not knowing what was tempered with. The new http://www.penguinunitedstore.com is hosted by bigcommerce, a respectable ecommerce provider, so that would be safe for sure. We'll make regular backup on the forum. We have also switched our server to a shared hosted solution, letting other people worry about the security.

We have no idea how the hackers got through, but with the procedures we have taken, I am very sure everything will be fine going forward.

Again thank you for your patience, and lets get things rolling again.
